Dyanthe Spielberg has been principal of the Neighborhood School, a progressive elementary school in Manhattan, since 2013. Under her leadership, The Neighborhood School was selected as one of seven New York City elementary schools to be a part of the Chancellor’s Diversity Pilot. Dyanthe has published a Bank Street Occasional Paper, “Holding Space for Progressive Practice.” She received a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of Bank Street’s Leadership for Educational Change program.
