Molly Wang became principal of PS 173 in Queens in 2004. She taught for twelve years as a classroom teacher (K-6), and as a Reading and English as a New Language (ENL) teacher before going into the administrative field. Molly has a deep interest in how children learn a second language and has therefore studied and experimented extensively in this area. Under her tutelage, PS 173 became a National Blue Ribbon School in 2011. She is the recipient of the 2012 New York State Association of Bilingual Education’s “Pillars of Bi-Literacy” award. Wang received her B.A. in History/Education from the University of North Carolina and her Masters in reading and an advanced degree in School Administration fro St. John’s University.
