Kuvana Jones Sanders has been principal of P.S. 12, a multi-sited District 75 school in the Bronx, since 2010. Jones began teaching in 2000, after serving the NYC Mayor’s office as the Bronx Borough Director of the Mayor’s Community Assistance Unit. She worked as a K-2 reading cluster teacher for P.S. 369 and as a special education self-contained classroom teacher and as Unit Coordinator in D75. As an assistant principal for P.S. 141 in Brooklyn and as The D75 Director of School Safety, PBIS and Emotional Literacy, she worked collaboratively with Office of School and Youth Development and Special Education. Kuvana holds a B.S. in Health and Nutrition Sciences from Brooklyn College, a master’s degree in Instructional Technology from American InterContinental University and a doctorate in educational leadership from North Central University.
