Chad Weiden serves as principal at the Edgebrook Elementary School, a K-8 neighborhood school on the Northwest side of Chicago. Weiden began his career teaching middle school in Georgia at the Sweetwater Middle School in Gwinnett County and at the Drew Charter School in the East Lake Community outside Atlanta. He moved back to Chicago to become the founding social studies teacher at KIPP Ascend Charter School on Chicago’s West Side. In 2004, he joined the Social Justice High School in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. During his seven years at Social Justice, Chad served as a social studies teacher, assistant principal and principal. He is a proud graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in History and Teaching of Social Studies and of the National Louis University with a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership.
